With the rise in popularity of Local SEO, Google has now factored this into their algorithm. This means that now when you place a search in Google, you will get local results if there are any for the specific inquiry that you’ve made.

Now you don’t even need to type in the location, or near me. Google’s algorithm works with where you’re making the search from and they give the best possible results.

For example, if you’re looking for an auto body shop or a fancy restaurant, you just need to type in those keywords and local results will be given.

How Do You Optimize Your Website In Order To Get A High Rank?

There are many different ways you can optimize your website. Local SEO doesn’t exclude your regular SEO practices. You need to have an active website, with freshly written content. You need to be active on your social media platforms as well. Engage with comments, likes, and shares.

You need to make sure that Google knows your local as well. This means having a Google My Business listing with everything filled out. Your address, postal code, area, all of it needs to be completed in order for Google to know your location.

As mentioned, you need to be active. While you’re writing content, you should express a focus on your area. Not all of your content needs to be written about local events or gatherings, but some of it should.

Don’t forget to promote other local businesses in your content. Talk about the people in your town and how you can help them with your products and services. When Google sees a lot of mentions of your area, they’re more likely to rank you higher.

Remember to stay active, and engage. Local SEO isn’t so different from regular SEO, it just has a heavier focus on your area. So write about your area, give your location, and be consistent. Then Google will do the rest.
